What does this icon show?
Square chat bubble with two lines of text, for conversations, chat threads and text replies. Typical uses: conversation list item icon, reply button in a comment thread and chat tab in a side panel.
When should I use it instead of a similar icon?
Use it for:
- Direct message buttons on a profile or member card that open a 1 to 1 chat
- Chat panels in a ticket, order or deal view, where the customer conversation sits beside its details
- Text message channel rows in notification settings or a campaign builder, next to email and push
For reply buttons under a review, an answer or a forum post, use the Speech Bubble Text icon. For group chats or a whole inbox of threads with many people, use the Messages icon. For a chat with a new reply nobody has opened yet, use the Message Notify icon.
Which styles does it come in?
4 styles: Outline, Solid, Duotone and Filled. Every style is drawn on the same 24 by 24 grid and installs as its own file, so you can switch styles without touching the layout.
How do I install it with the shadcn CLI?
Copy the install command from the panel above, in the style you want, and run it in your project. The shadcn CLI adds the icon as a React component that you import and render like any other. It draws in the current text color, so your text color and size classes style it. Icon installs need a ReUI Ultimate license.
What icons go well with it?
SMS and Call Circle sit beside it in the same toolbar or menu. More from the same family and the Communication set: Message 24, Message Add, Message Edit and Message Heart.
