What does this icon show?
Capital letter T, for text tools, adding text layers and typography settings. Typical uses: add text layer to design, label a canvas element and typography tool in editor.
When should I use it instead of a similar icon?
Use it for:
- A show formatting toggle at the end of a chat composer that reveals bold, italic and lists
- The Typography section of a theme or brand kit editor, for font family, size and weight
- The text property type in a database column menu, beside number, date and checkbox
For a type layer on a design canvas, shown selected with its resize handles, use the Text Edit icon. For a paragraph block in a page builder's insert panel, beside image blocks, use the Square Text icon. For sending an SMS to a customer from a contact or order page, use the Message Text icon.
Which styles does it come in?
4 styles: Outline, Solid, Duotone and Filled. Every style is drawn on the same 24 by 24 grid and installs as its own file, so you can switch styles without touching the layout.
How do I install it with the shadcn CLI?
Copy the install command from the panel above, in the style you want, and run it in your project. The shadcn CLI adds the icon as a React component that you import and render like any other. It draws in the current text color, so your text color and size classes style it. Icon installs need a ReUI Ultimate license.
What icons go well with it?
