What does this icon show?
Rounded square divided into a narrow left panel and a wide right area, for sidebar toggles, split views and layouts. Typical uses: toggle a collapsible left sidebar, switch to a split view layout and page template with a side panel.
When should I use it instead of a similar icon?
Use it for:
- The sidebar toggle beside the page title in a desktop app header, docking or hiding the sidebar
- Hiding the file tree in a code editor or the folder list in a mail client to give the page room
For a 2 column section with equal halves in a page or email builder, use the Layout Columns icon. For picking a page template with a fixed navigation column in a site builder, use the Layout Sidebar Left icon. For opening navigation as an overlay drawer on a phone screen, use the Menu icon.
Which styles does it come in?
4 styles: Outline, Solid, Duotone and Filled. Every style is drawn on the same 24 by 24 grid and installs as its own file, so you can switch styles without touching the layout.
How do I install it with the shadcn CLI?
Copy the install command from the panel above, in the style you want, and run it in your project. The shadcn CLI adds the icon as a React component that you import and render like any other. It draws in the current text color, so your text color and size classes style it. Icon installs need a ReUI Ultimate license.
What icons go well with it?
