What does this icon show?
Nine small rounded squares in a three by three grid, for dense grid views, app launchers and thumbnail layouts. Typical uses: switch to a dense thumbnail grid, app launcher menu and pick a 3x3 layout for widgets.
When should I use it instead of a similar icon?
Use it for:
- The dense step of a thumbnail size switch, fitting 3 or more small tiles per row
- Collage and dashboard presets that split the canvas into a 3 by 3 arrangement
- Media libraries and photo pickers that show many small thumbnails at once
For a simple tile view with 2 large tiles per row, use the Grid Four icon. For a header shortcut that opens a panel of the company's other apps, use the Dots Grid icon. For a dial pad toggle on a phone calling screen, use the Dots Grid Square icon.
Which styles does it come in?
4 styles: Outline, Solid, Duotone and Filled. Every style is drawn on the same 24 by 24 grid and installs as its own file, so you can switch styles without touching the layout.
How do I install it with the shadcn CLI?
Copy the install command from the panel above, in the style you want, and run it in your project. The shadcn CLI adds the icon as a React component that you import and render like any other. It draws in the current text color, so your text color and size classes style it. Icon installs need a ReUI Ultimate license.
What icons go well with it?
