What does this icon show?
Rounded square split into two equal columns, for two-column layouts, split views and side by side comparison. Typical uses: choose a two-column page layout, toggle a side by side compare view and split editor and preview panes.
When should I use it instead of a similar icon?
Use it for:
- Split view toggles in markdown and code editors that put source beside a live preview
- The split mode in a diff viewer that sets old and new code in matching panes
- Sections in a page or email builder that hold 2 equal columns, such as text beside an image
For a header toggle that shows or hides the app's navigation sidebar, use the Panel Left icon. For task boards where cards move between status columns, use the Kanban icon. For a pricing or features section with 3 cards under a heading, use the Layout Header Columns icon.
Which styles does it come in?
4 styles: Outline, Solid, Duotone and Filled. Every style is drawn on the same 24 by 24 grid and installs as its own file, so you can switch styles without touching the layout.
How do I install it with the shadcn CLI?
Copy the install command from the panel above, in the style you want, and run it in your project. The shadcn CLI adds the icon as a React component that you import and render like any other. It draws in the current text color, so your text color and size classes style it. Icon installs need a ReUI Ultimate license.
What icons go well with it?

When was it added, and what was it called before?
It joined the ReUI icon library on June 30, 2026. It was previously named grid-2, and that install name still resolves to this icon.
