Exclamation mark inside a circle, for warnings, error messages and attention alerts. Typical uses: form field validation error, warning banner on a settings page and failed payment status message.
When should I use it instead of a similar icon?
Use it for:
- Validation messages under a form field, shown with the red helper line until the value is fixed
- Warning callouts above a form or settings section, such as an expiring card or a plan near its limit
- Toasts for a save that went through with problems, such as 3 rows skipped on import
For neutral tips or extra detail with no problem behind them, use the Information Circle icon. For a payment, upload or job that failed for good, use the Cross Circle icon. For an outage or a blocking error that stops the whole page, use the Exclamation Hexagon icon.
Which styles does it come in?
4 styles: Outline, Solid, Duotone and Filled. Every style is drawn on the same 24 by 24 grid and installs as its own file, so you can switch styles without touching the layout.
How do I install it with the shadcn CLI?
Copy the install command from the panel above, in the style you want, and run it in your project. The shadcn CLI adds the icon as a React component that you import and render like any other. It draws in the current text color, so your text color and size classes style it. Icon installs need a ReUI Ultimate license.
