What does this icon show?
Single chevron pointing down, for dropdown triggers, expanding sections and showing more content. Typical uses: dropdown select trigger, expand a collapsible section and sort descending on a table column.
When should I use it instead of a similar icon?
Use it for:
- The trailing caret in a select, menu button or split button that opens a list below it
- A disclosure caret on an accordion header or a sidebar More row, flipped to point up once open
- A low priority marker on an issue row or ticket card, between medium and the double caret for lowest
For a row expand toggle that has to draw its own box, with no button chrome around it, use the Down Square icon. For an expand all control that opens every section of an outline at once, use the Chevrons Down Thin icon. For a sorted column header showing the order now runs high to low, use the Arrow Down Wide Narrow icon.
Which styles does it come in?
4 styles: Outline, Solid, Duotone and Filled. Every style is drawn on the same 24 by 24 grid and installs as its own file, so you can switch styles without touching the layout.
How do I install it with the shadcn CLI?
Copy the install command from the panel above, in the style you want, and run it in your project. The shadcn CLI adds the icon as a React component that you import and render like any other. It draws in the current text color, so your text color and size classes style it. Icon installs need a ReUI Ultimate license.
