Two chevrons pointing outward to the left and right, for horizontal expand, resize and widen controls. Typical uses: column resize handle, expand a panel to full width and horizontal scroll hint.
When should I use it instead of a similar icon?
Use it for:
- A widen control that switches a docs page, editor canvas or modal to full width
- An expand toggle on a collapsed table column or side panel that restores its width
For a fold marker on hidden diff lines or the collapsed middle of a long breadcrumb, use the Chevrons Left Right Ellipsis icon. For the control that narrows a page back after it went full width, use the Chevrons Inward icon. For an inline snippet button in a rich text toolbar beside bold and italic, use the Square Code icon.
Which styles does it come in?
4 styles: Outline, Solid, Duotone and Filled. Every style is drawn on the same 24 by 24 grid and installs as its own file, so you can switch styles without touching the layout.
How do I install it with the shadcn CLI?
Copy the install command from the panel above, in the style you want, and run it in your project. The shadcn CLI adds the icon as a React component that you import and render like any other. It draws in the current text color, so your text color and size classes style it. Icon installs need a ReUI Ultimate license.
