What does this icon show?
Two chevrons pointing inward toward each other, for collapse, shrink width and fit to content controls. Typical uses: collapse a split pane, shrink a table column to fit and narrow a side panel.
When should I use it instead of a similar icon?
Use it for:
- A fit to contents command in a data grid column menu, trimming the column to its widest cell
- A shrink control on a split view divider that pulls a widened pane back to its default width
- The narrow option in a page width toggle on a docs or reading view
For a widen control that turns on full width for a page or pane, use the Chevrons Left Right icon. For a collapse caret on a vertical accordion or tree section, use the Up icon.
Which styles does it come in?
4 styles: Outline, Solid, Duotone and Filled. Every style is drawn on the same 24 by 24 grid and installs as its own file, so you can switch styles without touching the layout.
How do I install it with the shadcn CLI?
Copy the install command from the panel above, in the style you want, and run it in your project. The shadcn CLI adds the icon as a React component that you import and render like any other. It draws in the current text color, so your text color and size classes style it. Icon installs need a ReUI Ultimate license.
