What does this icon show?
Waste bin with a handled lid and two short lines on its body, for deleting items, discarding and clearing. Typical uses: delete selected rows button, discard a draft in an editor and clear history in a settings panel.
When should I use it instead of a similar icon?
Use it for:
- Delete controls at the end of a table row or in a list row's overflow menu
- Bulk delete in a selection toolbar once rows, files or messages are checked
- A recycle bin folder in mail and file app sidebars, holding deleted messages and files
For a boxed delete tile on a card corner or gallery thumbnail, use the Trash Square icon. For filing finished projects or old mail out of view, kept and searchable, use the Archive icon. For clearing typed text from a search or input field, use the Cross icon.
Which styles does it come in?
4 styles: Outline, Solid, Duotone and Filled. Every style is drawn on the same 24 by 24 grid and installs as its own file, so you can switch styles without touching the layout.
How do I install it with the shadcn CLI?
Copy the install command from the panel above, in the style you want, and run it in your project. The shadcn CLI adds the icon as a React component that you import and render like any other. It draws in the current text color, so your text color and size classes style it. Icon installs need a ReUI Ultimate license.
