What does this icon show?
Rounded frame with two rows of caption dashes at the bottom, for subtitles, closed captions and transcripts. Typical uses: toggle captions in video player, subtitle language picker and transcript panel tab.
When should I use it instead of a similar icon?
Use it for:
- The captions toggle in a video player's control bar, beside the settings and full screen buttons
- Transcript panels for meetings, podcasts and lectures that scroll in step with playback
- Caption track rows in a video upload form, 1 per language, each from an SRT or VTT file
For a paragraph or long answer block in a form or page builder, use the Square Text icon. For a direct chat thread between a customer and an agent, use the Message Text icon. For a language switcher in a site footer or a settings menu, use the Globe icon.
Which styles does it come in?
4 styles: Outline, Solid, Duotone and Filled. Every style is drawn on the same 24 by 24 grid and installs as its own file, so you can switch styles without touching the layout.
How do I install it with the shadcn CLI?
Copy the install command from the panel above, in the style you want, and run it in your project. The shadcn CLI adds the icon as a React component that you import and render like any other. It draws in the current text color, so your text color and size classes style it. Icon installs need a ReUI Ultimate license.
