What does this icon show?
Sun rays around a disc split by a crescent curve, for light and dark theme toggles and day or night views. Typical uses: light, dark and system theme switcher; day or night forecast view toggle; and display contrast setting.
When should I use it instead of a similar icon?
Use it for:
- A theme button in a site header that keeps the same glyph in both light and dark mode
- The Appearance entry in a settings sidebar that opens theme, accent color and font size
- Scheduled theme switching in display settings that turns dark at sunset and light at sunrise
For the light choice listed alone in a theme menu, or a brightness slider, use the Sun icon. For stronger text and border separation for low vision readers, use the Contrast icon. For the match device choice in a theme menu that follows the operating system, use the Screen icon.
Which styles does it come in?
4 styles: Outline, Solid, Duotone and Filled. Every style is drawn on the same 24 by 24 grid and installs as its own file, so you can switch styles without touching the layout.
How do I install it with the shadcn CLI?
Copy the install command from the panel above, in the style you want, and run it in your project. The shadcn CLI adds the icon as a React component that you import and render like any other. It draws in the current text color, so your text color and size classes style it. Icon installs need a ReUI Ultimate license.
