JS icon FAQ
What does this icon show?
Shield with the letters JS inside, a JavaScript logo, for language labels, tech stack chips and file badges. Typical uses: JavaScript language label, tech stack skill chip and code file type indicator.
When should I use it instead of a similar icon?
Use it for:
- File tree rows and diff headers for .js and .mjs files in an editor or a code review
- The JavaScript tab of a docs code sample that also ships a TypeScript version
- Vanilla JavaScript filters in a snippet or template library, for code with no framework
For a server runtime picker or a backend service row in a deploy dashboard, use the JS Hexagon icon. For typed source files and the typed version of a docs sample, use the TS icon. For a tracking snippet or a script tag pasted into a site builder's custom block, use the Square Code icon.
Which styles does it come in?
4 styles: Outline, Solid, Duotone and Filled. Every style is drawn on the same 24 by 24 grid and installs as its own file, so you can switch styles without touching the layout.
How do I install it with the shadcn CLI?
Copy the install command from the panel above, in the style you want, and run it in your project. The shadcn CLI adds the icon as a React component that you import and render like any other. It draws in the current text color, so your text color and size classes style it. Icon installs need a ReUI Ultimate license.
What icons go well with it?
When was it added?
It joined the ReUI icon library on June 30, 2026.
