HTML icon FAQ
What does this icon show?
Shield with a numeral 5 inside, the HTML5 logo, for markup file badges, tech stack lists and code labels. Typical uses: HTML file type badge in a code editor, tech stack label on a portfolio and language tag on a code snippet.
When should I use it instead of a similar icon?
Use it for:
- The HTML tab of a code playground, beside the CSS and JS tabs, holding the page markup
- File tree rows and upload list entries for files ending in .html
- Export as HTML choices in a document or email editor's export menu, next to PDF and Markdown
For stylesheet files and the styles tab in a code playground, use the CSS icon. For custom embed blocks in a page builder, where a site owner pastes a widget snippet, use the Square Code icon. For a view source pane beside a page preview, showing the markup behind it, use the Code icon.
Which styles does it come in?
4 styles: Outline, Solid, Duotone and Filled. Every style is drawn on the same 24 by 24 grid and installs as its own file, so you can switch styles without touching the layout.
How do I install it with the shadcn CLI?
Copy the install command from the panel above, in the style you want, and run it in your project. The shadcn CLI adds the icon as a React component that you import and render like any other. It draws in the current text color, so your text color and size classes style it. Icon installs need a ReUI Ultimate license.
What icons go well with it?
When was it added?
It joined the ReUI icon library on June 30, 2026.
